The SPI Alpha project seeks to address a fundamental question: how can we spiritually form an ultra-connected Alpha Generation in a way that fosters an embodied, critical, creative, and lasting faith within a complex digital world? To explore this question, the project team conducted extensive research combining secondary analyses (literature review and observation of cultural and spiritual trends) with primary research involving young people from Generation Z, who are seen as early indicators of the behaviors and expectations of Generation Alpha. These data helped deepen the understanding of issues related to spirituality, connectivity, and the search for meaning in an ever-evolving digital environment. To explore potential concrete actions, a design thinking workshop was organized. This collaborative space encouraged the co-creation of innovative ideas and concepts aimed at developing spiritual formation approaches that are better adapted to the technological and social realities of younger generations. Insights from this work will serve as the foundation for designing an experimental solution that will be tested and later deployed with the target audience. This iterative approach will allow the team to refine both the content and pedagogical methods in order to better address identified needs and ensure the relevance and sustainability of the initiative. In summary, SPI Alpha is part of a broader effort toward spiritual and educational innovation, seeking to combine the depth of faith with digital creativity. The project aims to imagine new ways of supporting young people in their spiritual development in a manner that responds to the challenges of the 21st century.
